Production Supervisor & Planner
Felsomat USA, Inc. located in Schaumburg, Illinois is a steadily growing subsidiary of Felsomat GmbH, with headquarters in Germany and part of the Reishauer Group. We manufacture CNC turning machines, twin spindle hobbing machines as well as laser welding machines used in the manufacture of high-volume precision gears. We also specialize in the automation of high production automation systems used in automotive engine Electrified powertrain and transmission plants.

Our continued growth presents an immediate opening based at our Schaumburg Illinois facility for a Production Supervisor & Planner.
To ensure on time build and delivering of all Felsomat USA Inc. equipment to our customers in North America, Mexico, and Canada.
This position is responsible for managing all ongoing and future mechanical and electrical build and assembly projects and activities working within the Felsomat guidelines.
Functions and responsibilities:
- Production Supervisor:
Manages and coaches employees and is responsible for hiring, termination and disciplinary actions. Prepares and delivers annual performance reviews with all direct reports. While reporting to the Plant Manager he works with other department managers and project managers to execute projects to Felsomat standards. Open, proactive and effective verbal and written communication with other departmental and project managers. Sets an example for their department through actions and communication including needed follow up and active participation in meetings. Holds regular department level meetings to ensure effective communication, knowledge sharing, corrective action and continuous improvement.
- Technical Leader:
Assists in solving technical problems specific to electrical and mechanical assembly. Analyzes project scope, budget and schedule and assigns the proper resources. Supports department managers and project managers with technical knowledge which could be in the form of email, team meetings, customer interactions and/or escalations. Not expected to always have the answer, but is expected to facilitate the solution through assignment, problem solving, open discussion or other means required.
- Production Quality:
Ensures and maintains high quality expectations related to completion of equipment and service orders while ensuring shipping on time. Documents and follows department process/procedure and maintains needed templates/forms/tools. Regularly reinforces these areas specific to quality and shipping on time and quickly addresses employees who are not following established processes.
Actively aware of what tasks should be performed on a daily basis and openly communicates them to the team; Supports Project Managers with proper resource assignment. Reviews project performance on a regularbasis; looks for opportunities to improve; discusses performance with department employees.
- Production Scheduling:
Actively aware of project schedules, assignments and on-time performance. Pro-actively communicates with Project Managers, Purchasing and Operations Manager on concerns, issues specific to project timelines. Works with other departmental managers and project managers to resolve scheduling conflicts; always looks for win-win outcomes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Formal Qualification
BS in Mechanical Engineering or applicable technical experience.
- Job Experience (years):
5 years’ experience in Automation and Manufacturing/Machine Tool Industry.
- Job Experience (contents):
Experience with purchasing mechanical manufactured parts for machines in automation. Must be able to read technical drawings for manufactured parts.
Manufacturing/Machine Tool Experience: Managed an assembly/electrical group previously, Working knowledge of project flow process including sales to engineering to procurement to assembly as well as industry knowledge of the technology including interface, mechanical, electrical.
Automation Experience: Conveyors, robots, washers, etc. Experience in integrating multiple pieces of equipment, dealing with automotive customers and understands the challenges associated in these areas. Management Experience: 5 or more years managing a group or department; Experience in interviewing, recruiting, outsourcing, mentoring and building successful teams. Can effectively give direction and assure tasks are properly completed.

Production Supervisor is free to schedule his team as needed to complete the build/assembly on time and within budget. Is expected to work other department and project managers to achieve win-win outcomes.

- On time / on schedule assembly and site acceptance
- Delivery of projects within assembly budget
- Shipment of automation projects complete to customer site
- Successful handovers from Assembly teams to Service
